The mission of the Central Counties Golf Association is to promote the game of golf through organizing competitive tournaments, fostering camaraderie among member clubs, and supporting the development of young golfers through a dedicated scholarship program. It also aims to uphold the values of sportsmanship and integrity, ensuring a welcoming and enjoyable environment for all participants while contributing positively to the golfing community.
The Association consists of fourteen golf clubs in Central Pennsylvania including:
The Association has five tournaments during the year: Best-Ball Championship; Individual and Team Championships; Pro Am Championship; Senior Championship and a Junior Tournament. Each event has specific rules and guidelines, with entry fees set annually by the Tournament Committee. These events are rotated among member clubs, ensuring that each club has the opportunity to host and contribute to the Association’s goals.
When these tournaments are hosted by a course, they must adhere to the rules of the Association. In the event a member chooses not to play in the tournament, he or she may choose to play one of the other Central Counties courses. You must call ahead to verify if the course is open to play. It is required to take a cart when playing these courses. All courses must have twenty players participating in tournaments each year to stay eligible in the guidelines of the Central Counties.
The Association has a scholarship program. The monies generated for the scholarship program are through the purchase of Central Counties Cards. These cards are only available to member courses of the Association. These cards are available in the Pro Shops. Courses to be eligible for the cards must have enough people participate in tournaments the prior year.
The only regulations with these cards are that you must take a cart when playing these courses and that you must call ahead to verify the course is open for play. Each course has different rules as to when it can be played. (No green fees.)
Members must present the club's membership card and the Central Counties card when going to these courses.
Juniors must participate in Central Counties events to be eligible for a scholarship. Juniors sixteen years of age may play in all events except for the Seniors Tournament. The Juniors' Tournament is open to age eighteen.
Juniors must play in two (2) tournaments during grades 9 - 12 school years. Each junior member must have been a member of his or her course for at least two (2) years.
Watch for posters on the Association's tournaments. If you have any questions, contact the Pro Shop or members of the Golf Committee.
