Pool

A century-old part of the club's story.

ALCC Pool

Established in 1928, alongside the clubhouse, the pool at ALCC was long a cornerstone of the club experience. For generations it provided a place for families to gather, with a deep end and diving board for the adventurous and a shallow section for younger swimmers. From Memorial Day to Labor Day, countless members enjoyed relaxing summer days by the water.

In recent years, however, the pool developed a significant leak, ultimately leading to its closure. Safety concerns, combined with the escalating cost of repairs, made it impractical to reopen without major investment. While the American Legion Home Association has explored several fundraising opportunities, the necessary funds have not yet been secured.

As a result, the pool area will be filled in at some point in the near future. At this time, there are no specific plans for how that space will be repurposed.

Though it's disappointing to close a chapter that has been such a meaningful part of ALCC's history, the club remains committed to preserving and strengthening its future through thoughtful improvements and long-term planning.
